Making this about left and right is counterproductive to the real issue. And chalking it up to a “wrong place, wrong time” logic trivializes the impact of the violence and disregards statistics. Instead of being concerned with whether the world perceives you as racist or not, I think it would be better to try and understand the fear certain races fear and how the history of America has played a role in that. And if you can’t identify with that fear or try to understand it, why is that?
